Step Into Medieval Malta at Fort St Angelo This February

On Sunday, 2 February, Heritage Malta is hosting a special event at the iconic Fort St Angelo in Vittoriosa (Birgu), once known as Castrum Maris (Castle by the Sea). From 10:00am to 3:00pm, visitors can travel back to the 1400s and discover the fort as it was during the medieval era, brought to life by the Historical Re-enactment Group of Malta (HRGM).

Step into the shoes of soldiers from centuries past as re-enactors dressed in authentic period clothing recreate life inside the fort. Watch demonstrations of weaponry, learn about the supplies that sustained the stronghold, and hear stories of the fort’s strategic importance in Malta’s history. It’s a chance to explore Fort St Angelo not just as a historical monument, but as a bustling medieval fortress.
