Celebrate the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck at San Pawl Milqi
On Monday, 10 February 2025, the historic San Pawl Milqi site in Burmarrad opens its doors for a special Mass and guided tours, offering a rare opportunity to explore the location traditionally linked to St Paul’s arrival in Malta.
This February, the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck will be marked at San Pawl Milqi in Burmarrad, a site steeped in history and Maltese tradition. Traditionally associated with St Paul’s arrival and his warm reception by Publius, Malta’s Protos, in AD 60, the site offers a unique window into Malta’s religious and cultural past.
The event begins with a guided tour in Maltese at 9:00 am, followed by a solemn Mass at 10:00 am, celebrated in Maltese inside the site’s chapel. An English-language guided tour will take place at 11:00 am, allowing visitors to delve into the site’s rich past, from its Punic, Roman, and Arab agricultural roots to its significance in Malta’s religious heritage.
Suitable for all ages, each guided tour has a maximum capacity of 25 participants to ensure a meaningful experience. Tickets are priced at €5 for adults and €3 for seniors, students, children, and members.
