Malta’s Eurovision Track Record: Can 2025 Be the Year?

Since its Eurovision debut in 1971, Malta has been a passionate, yet luckless, contender. Despite 36 appearances, victory has remained elusive. The closest brushes with glory came in 2002 with Ira Losco’s ‘7th Wonder’ and in 2005 with Chiara’s ‘Angel’, both finishing as runners-up. However, there have also been heartbreaks—Malta placed last in 1971, 1972, and 2006, and failed to qualify in 2023 and 2024.

Will MESC 2025 finally produce Malta’s winning formula? Only time (and televotes) will tell. Tune in this Saturday for the grand finale!
