Maltese Artist Mario Zammit-Lewis Returns to Malta with a Solo Exhibition This February
Local articst Mario Zammit-Lewis returns to Malta for a solo exhibition at Dar Centrali in Pietà from 18 to 27 February 2025 . The exhibition will feature over 50 oil paintings, prints, and part of his ABC Art Bags collection.
After a successful year in 2024, which included being awarded the Artist of the Year trophy in January, he participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions around the world. His work was showcased in Los Angeles at the Art Show in February, followed by a powerful exhibition in Marsaskala featuring his 10 Scenes of the Via Crucis. In March, Mario exhibited at the New York Art Expo with his painting The Family, and in April, he showcased his work at the Galleria Expirence in Palermo with Leonarda Zappulla. In May, his painting At the Beach was displayed in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and received the Medal of Honor in Tirana, Albania, a week later. June saw him presenting his work in Mantova and Rome, where his painting A.D. with the Cat was praised by the president of the jury, José Von Dali, son of the famous Salvador Dalí. Additionally, Mario’s solo exhibition at Villarbase in Palazzo Mistrot in June included the presentation of his ABC Art Bags and his book UOMINI, which features his painting Love is in the Air on the cover.
Further exhibitions followed in Savona, Italy in July and in Perros-Guirec, France, where he displayed 15 of his works. In September, Mario exhibited at ROTTARTI24 at Dar Centrali in Pietà, and in October, he was honored in Agadir, Morocco, where his painting The Family earned a Medal of Honor. He also participated in the prestigious Gaudí Prize in Barcelona, Spain.
November was another busy month, with exhibitions in Leiria, Portugal, at the Ferrara Art Fair in Italy, and at the Castle of Belgioioso near Pavia, Italy. He ended the year with a Christmas exhibition in Palermo, Italy.
2024 kicked off with the Premio Mazzini in Milan, where Mario’s painting La Bruna, La Rossa e la Bionda was displayed. Now, in February, he returns to Malta for a solo exhibition at Dar Centrali in Pietà from 18 to the 27 . The exhibition will feature over 50 oil paintings, prints, and part of his ABC Art Bags collection.
Looking ahead, Mario’s schedule includes exhibitions in Pavia (March), Dubai (April), Beijing (June), Berlin (July), with further exhibitions planned in Monte Carlo, New York, Venice, and Norway, with specific dates to be finalized.
His continued success and global recognition highlight Mario Zammit-Lewis as one of the most prominent contemporary artists today.
