Louis Rees-Zammit Signs Active Roster Deal with Jacksonville Jaguars for 2025 NFL Season
At just 24 years old, Louis Rees-Zammit, the former Wales rugby star with Maltese heritage, has earned a place on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ active roster for the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
After spending last season on the Jaguars’ practice squad, Rees-Zammit is now getting another chance to prove himself in the NFL. His journey to this point started with a bold decision to leave rugby union behind in pursuit of an NFL career. Initially signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, he was later cut before finding a new home with Jacksonville.
At 23, Rees-Zammit embarked on an intensive 10-week programme in Florida to improve his chances of securing a spot on an NFL team in 2024. His long-term goal? To become a Super Bowl champion within the next five years.
Rees-Zammit’s journey highlights the power of following one’s dreams and embracing challenges. Instead of choosing the familiar path in rugby, he has taken a risk that many might shy away from, making him an inspiration to others chasing their own aspirations.
Best of luck to him as he continues his journey in American football!
