A Collective Exhibition Bridging the Future Through Art, Technology, and Ecology Opens This April

Opening on  9 April, 2025, at 6:00pm at the Kordin Business Incubation Centre (KBIC), Echoes of the Future challenges conventional art spaces by integrating artistic expression into an industrial hub for startups and innovation. The exhibition runs until 10 May, 2025, offering audiences an immersive experience where speculative and forward-thinking artistic practices serve as a catalyst for reimagining our shared future.

ARTZ ID, in collaboration with Malta Enterprise, presents Echoes of the Future, a groundbreaking multidisciplinary exhibition that examines humanity’s evolving relationship with nature, technology, and the environment. Bringing together eight visionary artists, the exhibition offers a compelling exploration of the tensions between the present and the future—delving into themes of innovation, dystopia, ecological transformation, and collective identity.

As part of the L-Arti Bħala Intrapriża program—an initiative designed to support local and international creatives in developing their artistic and entrepreneurial skills—the exhibition underscores the dynamic interplay between ecological awareness and technological innovation. Hosted in partnership with KBIC, known for fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and innovation, this exhibition underscores the transformative power of creativity beyond traditional galleries and museums.

Through a diverse range of media—including digital art, sculpture, painting, and performative installation—Echoes of the Future offers a reflective and speculative lens on humanity’s shifting political, ecological, and societal landscapes. Artists have been invited to present new or existing works that project both utopian and dystopian visions of the future, contemplating themes of hope, loss, resistance, and the unknown.

By situating the exhibition within an innovation-driven setting, Echoes of the Future challenges the boundaries between art and industry, demonstrating that creative expression thrives wherever new possibilities emerge. The exhibition invites audiences to engage with the intersection of art, technology, and environmental consciousness—sparking dialogue and inspiring new ways of thinking about the world we are shaping.

The exhibition showcases works by eight selected artists, chosen through an open call and juried by an independent panel of local and international experts:

  • Hui Sun
  • Jade Zammit
  • Movingeedit
  • Alex Weenink
  • Aaron Bezzina
  • Matthew Schembri
  • Sarah Maria Scicluna
  • Sebastian Tanti Burlo

This is an unmissable opportunity to explore how contemporary artists are reinterpreting the future through a fusion of art, industry, and technology.
