Global Stars Rock Isle of MTV Malta 2025

Tens of thousands of fans filled Malta’s historic Il-Fosos Square tonight, as MTV staged the annual Isle of MTV Malta festival. The show featured performances from international artists ALOK, Damiano David and Ella Henderson, plus a set from Maltese star Miriana Conte.

British singer-songwriter Ella Henderson belted out some of her most iconic tracks, including “Ghost” and ‘Glitterball’, as well as her latest hits ‘Alibi’, ‘Filthy Rich’, and ‘Me & You’. Her powerhouse vocals electrified the crowd as she delivered a high-energy set that blended heartfelt pop with dancefloor anthems, proving once again why she’s one of the UK’s most captivating live performers. The incredible performance sets the tone before her upcoming European tour supporting OneRepublic later this year.

Acclaimed Italian singer and songwriter Damiano David commanded the crowd throughout his first ever performance in Malta, with his powerhouse vocals doing the talking during his stunning stripped back set.  Fans were treated to several, raw and heartfelt tracks from Damiano’s debut solo album, ‘Funny Little Fears’ including ‘The First Time’, ‘Voices’ and ‘Born With A Broken Heart’, alongside a special cover of Hozier’s ‘Too Sweet’.

Closing out the show with lasers and pyrotechnics, Brazilian DJ superstar ALOK showcased the power of human creativity with the European debut of his ‘Keep Art Human’ concept, in collaboration with Urban Theory.  The set featured 45 dancers performing intricate choreography to tracks, such as ‘Truth, Peace, Love, Acid’ and ‘Brighter Days’, as well as performing his new summer anthem ‘Unforgettable’ together for the first time with guest featuring artists Daecolm and Malou, culminating in a massive finale of fireworks – a spectacular end to ALOK’s first ever performance on the island.

Earlier in the evening, Maltese singer Miriana Conte got the crowd going with her Eurovision smash hit ‘Kant’, plus her newest track ‘Ghajjejt’.  Flanked by 6 dancers, Miriana also welcomed fellow Maltese artist Sarah Bonnici on stage for an epic cover of Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s ‘Guess’.

Local DJs DODZ, Wyne, Gabii, Denzel Jo Armani, Koroma, Keane, Miggy and Debrii also delivered energetic sets throughout the evening, whilst Blush Malta delivered a crowd-wide sing-a-long session.

Over its 17 editions, Isle of MTV Malta has brought thousands of music fans to the square every year to enjoy show-stopping performances from the world’s biggest stars, including Alesso, Ava Max, David Guetta, Jessie J, Lady Gaga, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, N.E.R.D, Nelly Furtado, OneRepublic, RAYE, Rita Ora, Scissor Sisters, Snoop Dogg, and Tom Grennan.

The event livestreamed on Pluto TV, and is set to broadcast on MTV internationally on 13th September in more than 150 countries. Additionally, the show will be available on-demand on Paramount+ at a later date.

The festival is followed by Isle of MTV Malta Music Week, a series of club nights and parties across the hottest venues on the island from 15-20 July.
