A Pumpkin & Honey Festival in Mosta This September
Looking for unique things to do in Malta this September? Make your way to Mosta for a seasonal celebration that combines autumn flavours with Maltese tradition. On Saturday, 13 September 2025, the town square will host Festa Qargħasel, an evening dedicated to pumpkins, honey, food, music, and local culture.
The name Qargħasel comes from two Maltese words: qarġa (pumpkin) and għasel (honey). This annual event highlights the importance of these ingredients in Malta’s culinary heritage while turning them into the stars of a fun-filled street festival.
Food & Drink
From 5pm onwards, Mosta Square becomes a food lover’s paradise. Visitors can expect:
- Savoury dishes made with pumpkin in creative ways
- Sweet desserts drizzled with golden Maltese honey
- Artisanal and homemade products to discover and take home
- A cocktail bar shaking up seasonal harvest-inspired drinks
The night promises plenty of energy, with live performances from Maltese favourites including Andreana Debattista, Drakard, Kapitlu Tlettax, and The Busker. Whether you’re dancing in the square or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the music sets the perfect backdrop for the evening.
Children can join in the festivities too, thanks to a kids’ area featuring a bouncy castle, quad bikes, face painting, and more. It’s a festival designed for the whole family.
To make travel simple, a Park & Ride service will run from MCAST Mosta directly to the square, so visitors don’t need to worry about parking.
