Maltese Singer-Songwriter Muxu Unveils his Most Personal Project to Date
Maltese singer-songwriter Muxu (Matthew Mercieca) has unveiled his most personal and ambitious project to date, Beautifully Lost, a multi-format artistic experience combining a book, album, and audiobook. The project, five years in the making, dives deep into the beauty and chaos of self-discovery, including heartfelt storytelling and evocative soundscapes.
Born from heartbreak, healing, and growth, Beautifully Lost transforms raw emotion into art designed to connect with listeners and readers on a deeply human level. “I poured every part of myself into this,” says Muxu. “Beautifully Lost is for anyone who has ever felt a step behind. It’s about finding meaning in the mess, choosing yourself, and realising that your own validation is enough.”
The project invites audiences to explore vulnerability and personal evolution through Muxu’s signature lyrical honesty and creativity. By merging literature and music, Beautifully Lost offers a multi-sensory experience — one that mirrors the emotional landscapes of loss, love, and self-acceptance.
The Beautifully Lost journey began on Friday, 7 November with the premiere of the official project trailer, offering audiences their first glimpse into Muxu’s creative world. This is followed by the release of the lead single “Honeymoon” and its accompanying music video on today, 10 November. The official launch event will take place at Valletta Contemporary on Wednesday, 12 November at 8 pm, where fans will experience the project’s full vision for the first time. Looking ahead, a special book signing will be held at Elephant Shoe, Valletta, on Saturday, 15 May 2026, from 10 am to 1pm.
From 13 November 2025, the Beautifully Lost book, album, and audiobook will be available in Malta and internationally via www.beautifully-lost.com and all major digital platforms.
