The final will be judged on music videos and live-on-tape performances
Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) has issued the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) 2024 rules and regulation. Twelve acts will be competing in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest grand final after a lengthy semi-final process, which is set to take place from October to January 2024.
Before the grand final, each finalist is required to create an artistic music video for which they will get €5,000 allocated to them from PBS. A live peformance wil also be captured on tape with the opportunity to record three takes in 60 minutes, from which one will be chosen. At the grand final, both the music videos and the live-on-tape performances will be broadcast on television. Thus, the audience will hear all 12 songs twice.
The national final will serve as the basis for selecting the MESC winner and the representing act for Malta at the Eurovision 2024 in Malmö.
