Inaugural Woodland Christmas Market at Ta’ Qali this weekend

This weekend, December 15 to 17, will see the inaugural Woodland Christmas Market at the centre of Ta’ Qali’s. The three-day event not only promises an array of enjoyment, but also a commitment to sustainability.

Ta’ Qali’s green spaces have been adorned with several Christmas lights in preparation for the event. Starting tonight, just as many stalls will be propped up on the illuminated grass, offering a wide range of food, art, accessories, self-care products, and a lot more. Attendees can expect an array of eco-friendly yet high quality products, as well as authentic Maltese products made by local artisans. Who says last-minute Christmas shopping can’t be eco-conscious?

There are plenty of artisans who’ll be setting up in a matter of hours; You can buy some art, a crochet toy, and all the handmade jewellery you could want. Get a painting by Elena Merlina, who paints the buildings she sees on her travels on pieces of driftwood that wash up. Perhaps try some handcrafted jam from Idejn Bieżla (‘busy hands’), a small family-run business with a ton of flavours for you to choose from. Plus, the Kids4Kids Market on Sunday will showcase the drive and talents of young artisans aged 6 to 16.

Moreover, make sure you have room in your stomach for some delicious and festive foods, beverages, and sweets. The market will have such Christmas staples as roasted chestnuts and mulled wine available, with some more nutritious alternatives. And for all the parents, fear not as there will be plenty of activities, creative workshops, and attractions on offer free of charge for the whole family. There’s even a designated area for kids’ entertainment – they will never get bored.

The Market will be open at Ta’ Qali national park from 5 pm to 8 pm tonight, from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, then from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
