Special Extended Tallinja Service announced for New Year’s Eve

For New Year’s Eve, Malta Public Transport has planned to extend the bus services. The additional services will be accessible on a number of routes, providing comfortable nighttime mobility for people from all over the island.

Additional bus routes between Valletta and a number of sites on New Year’s Eve include Kalkara, Birkirkara, Buġibba, Dingli, Żebbuġ, Żurrieq, Birżebbuġia, and Xgħajra. Paola, Vittoriosa, Kalkara, Msida, San Ġwann, Mosta, Mġarr, Ħamrun, Santa Venera, Marsa, Qormi, Żebbuġ, Floriana, Luqa, Gudja, Marsaskala, Gżira, Sliema, St Julian’s, Paceville, Qawra, and Buġibba will also be served by special services till two in the morning.

All holders of personalised Tallinja Cards are entitled to free travel as usual, while those without a valid Tallinja Card can purchase cash tickets from the bus ticket machines for €3 per passenger. This means you won’t necessarily have to spend a fortune on a cab home, regardless of whether you’re a local or not, or which end of the country you live in.

Most of the special routes will run until around 2 am and start in Valletta. So, be safe this New Year’s Eve and opt for Tallinja on your way home from the celebrations. Visit the official Malta Public Transport website  here for the full timetable, announcements, and updates.
