Valletta exhibition challenges limits of artistic expression

A week from today, on February 8, Stefan Spiteri debuts his newest exhibition. ‘Through the Eye of the Needle’ will formally launch with a special event commencing at 6 pm. The exhibit challenges the accepted limits of artistic expression by inviting art enthusiasts to investigate canvas depth.

By using the needle as a metaphor, Stefan Spiteri shows that there is more to a situation than first meets the eye. The exhibited artworks deconstruct the intricacy of life, highlighting the fact that all elements can wear thin, encouraging spectators to practise the art of mending.

In addition to Stefan Spiteri’s most recent works, the Art Galleries will also display an installation by Speranza Spiteri, the artist’s mother. The exhibition, which was conceived by Lyanne Mifsud and curated by Andrew Borg Wirth, promises to be a multisensory experience, enhanced with a sound piece by Chris Galea.

Moreover, on February 24, visitors can join the artists’ tour, which begins at 11 am. Then, on February  28, a closing concert featuring Claire Tonna and Tom Armitage will take place at 7 pm. The exhibition will be held at the Concert Hall, Palazzo De La Salle in Valletta. Admission is free of charge.
