Thousands of Take That Fans Descend Upon Malta for The Greatest Weekend Festival This Week

This week, the beautiful Maltese Islands are set to welcome thousands of dedicated Take That fans as The Greatest Weekend Festival kicks off. The festival promises four days filled with music, entertainment, and unforgettable memories. Taking place from October 117 to October 20, this festival is a fantastic celebration of one of the UK’s most beloved boy bands and features a lineup that includes exciting performances from various international artists.

The Greatest Weekend Festival officially opens on Thursday, with an opening party hosted by Guilty Pleasures. Following this, fans can look forward to a spectacular lineup over the weekend. On Saturday, October 19, Take That will perform their iconic album ‘Everything Changes’ in full for the first time since its release in 1993, alongside other acts like Sugababes, Ella Henderson, and Gok Wan. The festival wraps up on Sunday, October 20, with another performance from Take That, featuring hits from their extensive catalog as well as songs from their latest album, ‘This Life’. Joining them will be Eurovision star Sam Ryder, Daniel Bedingfield, and vocal powerhouse Heather Small.

The conversation is buzzing in the popular dedicated Facebook group Take That Malta Weekend 2024, as Howard Donald’s DJ set is due to be a noted highlight of the festival. Scheduled for Friday 18 October, fans can expect an energetic performance as Howard spins some of the best tracks to keep the party vibe alive during this exciting weekend.

In addition to the main performances, The Greatest Weekend will offer a diverse range of activities and venues, including boat parties, and DJ after-parties, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The venues include UNO, Malta’s biggest open-air nightclub, and Café Del Mar Beach Club, which boasts stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Take That has achieved worldwide sales exceeding 45 million records, ruled the UK music charts in the early 1990s, and received multiple Brit Awards. In 2005, members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald reunited the group. From 1990 to 1996, the lineup also included Jason Orange, who rejoined in 2005 but departed a few years later, and the iconic Robbie Williams, who left the band in 1995.

With a nod to 90’s nostalgia and fresh new sounds, Take That’s Greatest Weekend is set to be an event to remember. Whether you’re there for the iconic music, the great comradery between fans, or the chance to enjoy Malta’s beautiful scenery, this festival is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year.
