New Maltese Festa Stamp Issued by MaltaPost

Last Friday, 12 September 2025, MaltaPost marked another milestone in its celebration of local traditions with the release of the Maltese Festa, Series IX. This latest philatelic issue continues the beloved series of stamps dedicated to Malta and Gozo’s village feasts, capturing the artistry and devotion of processional statues in vivid miniature form.

The ninth series showcases ten religious statues revered across the islands, photographed by Mark Micallef Perconte. The selection includes:

  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Balluta
  • Saint Peter in Chains in Birżebbuġa
  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Fgura
  • The Sacred Heart of Jesus in Fontana, Gozo
  • Saint Anthony in Għajnsielem, Gozo
  • Our Lady of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Mellieħa
  • Saint Sebastian in Qormi
  • Saint Ġorġ Preca in Swatar
  • Our Lady of Grace in Victoria, Gozo
  • Our Lady of the Forsaken in Wardija

Each stamp is both a work of art and a tribute to the deep-rooted traditions that unite communities during festa season.
