Maltese Singer Lyndsay Pace Wins Best Pop Song in Hollywood

It’s not every day a Maltese artist wins big in Hollywood! Local singer Lyndsay Pace has just picked up Best Pop Song at the World Entertainment Awards in Los Angeles.

The winning track, Trippin’, picked up the award in Hollywood, giving the Maltese singer a well-earned moment on an international stage. It’s a super polished pop track with a confident chorus and sharp production, easy to get into and strong enough to hold its own.

If you have followed Malta’s music scene over the years, Lyndsay’s name will already ring a bell. She has been part of it for a long time, first appearing at local festivals before joining Malta’s first girl band, Vieve, back in 2008. Since then, she has steadily built her solo career, balancing studio releases, live performances and television appearances.

She has featured as a resident singer on popular Maltese TV programmes, competed in major local contests including X Factor Malta and Muzika Muzika, and reached various live stages and semi-finals along the way. In 2022 she released her debut album Dopamine, a twelve-track pop record created in collaboration with UK producers. The project showed just how much her sound had matured, combining commercial pop with a slightly edgier feel.

Radio success has also followed her. Tracks such as Daphne, Love Sick, System Overload and Run Away have topped local charts and earned nominations at Maltese music awards. She has even taken her music abroad before, performing in London and presenting her work at industry events in Cannes.

That steady groundwork makes this latest award feel well earned rather than an unexpected surprise. Winning Best Pop Song in Hollywood is not something that happens by accident. It reflects years of training, songwriting, live work and persistence behind the scenes from Lindsay and her team.

Malta might be known for its historic cities and dramatic coastline, yet there is a fantastic contemporary creative scene ticking away in the background. Lyndsay’s win is a real reminder that local artists here are thinking well beyond the island.

So while you are wandering through Valletta or watching the sunset in Gozo, you might want to cue up Trippin’. It is pure Maltese pop with a Hollywood stamp of approval, and it makes a rather fitting soundtrack to your time on the island.
