Calling all fashionistas, PARASCANDALO’s 'SUN & MOON' arrives in Balluta this Weekend
The PARASCANDALO SUN & MOON Summer 2026 showcase takes place on Sunday 19 April at Oka’s at the Villa in Balluta Bay, St Julian’s.
April in Malta always feels like a natural turning point. The days are noticably sunnier, evenings stretch out, and people start making more of the night time glow again. Restaurants and seafront spots fill up without much planning, and there is a steady pace to things rather than a rush. For visitors to our shores, it is a good time to catch the island as it eases into the busier summer season, with events beginning to slot back into the calendar.
Among the top events taking place this season, one offers something a little different from the usual seaside plans. Fashion house PARASCANDALO will present its Summer 2026 collection, SUN & MOON, on Sunday 19 April at Oka’s at the Villa, overlooking Balluta Bay in St Julian’s. With tickets priced at €30 per person, it is an accessible way to step into the local fashion scene for one evening only.
For those unfamiliar with the name, PARASCANDALO is one of Malta’s more established fashion labels. Known for its clear identity and reliable quality, the brand has built a strong reputation locally while gradually attracting attention beyond the island. It sits at the more refined end of Malta’s fashion landscape, but remains approachable rather than exclusive.
The SUN & MOON collection is built around contrast. It explores the shift between light and shadow, day and evening, which reflects everyday life in Malta itself. A casual afternoon by the sea can easily turn into a more polished evening out, and the designs echo that transition. The pieces are intended to move effortlessly between settings, making them feel practical as well as thoughtfully designed.
The label is led by designer Marco Parascandalo, who was born in Birgu and trained at MCAST Art and Design College. His work is defined by attention to structure, detail, and finish, with a consistent sense of discipline throughout his collections. Over time, he has developed a style that feels distinctive without becoming repetitive, balancing statement pieces with more understated designs.
Sustainability also plays an important role in the brand’s direction. Recognition at the Malta Waste Reduction Awards, along with being named a Zero Waste Future Champion, reflects a broader commitment to more responsible production methods rather than a passing trend.
The gorgeous venue itself adds to the overall experience. Balluta Bay remains one of Malta’s most recognisable coastal spots, and Oka’s at the Villa provides a setting that feels truly well suited to the occasion. It is smart without being overly formal, making it just as appealing for a pre-show drink as it is for staying on for the party afterwards.
Tickets are available at €30 per person and you can get them here!
