Aleksa Ristovic Wins Best International Feature Film for Malta in Los Angeles
The Hard Faith Film Festival brought together filmmakers, premieres, and audiences from across the United States and around the world for four days of faith-based cinema in Southern California.
Among the featured productions was Illusion of Faith, an independent feature film from Malta, produced and directed by Aleksa Ristovic in his feature-film directorial debut. Following his breakthrough into the American faith-based film industry through numerous awards for his short films, Ristovic brought to the United States a story deeply connected to Malta, featuring both Maltese and international cast and crew members.
The world premiere of Illusion of Faith marked the beginning of a new chapter in Ristovic’s filmmaking journey as he pursues larger productions and international distribution opportunities. Screened to a full cinema audience, the film received a warm reception for its emotional storytelling, strong performances, and breathtaking portrayal of Malta’s landscapes and heritage.
Audience members praised the film’s powerful narrative, following a man struggling with a life-changing diagnosis while becoming consumed by a search for answers and purpose.
