Picture this: Twelve nations from Europe, nearly a thousand incredibly talented players and forty heart-pounding tournament tables! They will all be competing in a quest for glory and the coveted titles of 18 European Championships. These championships span various categories, including under 15’s, over 60’s, men, ladies and those with disabilities. It’s a celebration of diversity and inclusion, and it’s all officially sanctioned by the European Blackball Association (EBA) and SportMalta.

The action starts at 10:00 am sharp today, with the dazzling Opening Ceremony. Players from all participating nations will march in unison to the venue. This spectacle is set to take place at the Oracle Arena, right in the heart of the Dolmen Hotel in Qawra. Dignitaries will make their speeches, setting the stage for the battles ahead. Once the Opening Ceremony concludes, the real fun begins. The Championships are in full swing and will continue every day until Tuesday, 7 November.

The players will be locked in intense competition from 8:30 in the morning until 11pm at night. It’s non-stop action as the best players in Europe vie for victory. But the excitement doesn’t end there! On November 8th, the grand finale awaits. It’s a day filled with heart-pounding playoff matches, nail-biting semi-finals, and edge-of-your-seat final showdowns in both team and singles events. The Dolmen Hotel will buzz with anticipation, and you’re invited to be part of the action.

And there’s more! As the sun begins to set on this incredible week of competition, it’s time to honour the champions. The Awards Ceremony, set in the late afternoon, will recognise the outstanding talent and dedication of these participants.
