Exhibition in Milan Unveils the Essence of Gozo

Gozo Exhibition at Via Dante, Milan

Gozo, nestled within the Maltese archipelago, stands as a beacon of authenticity, equilibrium, and nature, making it the perfect destination for women embarking on solo adventures. This narrative forms the essence of a captivating photography exhibition on display at Via Dante in Milan from 6 to 26 October 2023

Having commenced on 6 October along the vibrant Via Dante just a stone’s throw from the Duomo in the heart of Milan, visitors were able to explore “No Woman is an Island”,  a tribute to Gozo, the second gem in the Maltese archipelago.

Gozo, situated just north of Malta, exudes Mediterranean charm and has been increasingly capturing the imagination of travellers, especially those in search of an authentic destination intertwined with nature. Accessible via a ferry from the Ċirkewwa port in northern Malta or Valletta’s Grand Harbour, Gozo offers tranquil surroundings in harmony with the local way of life and the picturesque landscapes that envelop it, making it a haven for rejuvenation amidst mesmerising natural beauty, a history spanning over 7,000 years, and top-tier services.

The exhibition at Via Dante weaved a two-way journey that unveiled the essence of Gozo. Each panel embodied a dual perspective. While one side showcased Gozo’s iconic attractions through panoramic imagery, the other side narrated a hypothetical solo female voyage. The protagonist embarks on a personal odyssey that draws her closer to the island’s heart, unveiling its most evocative and spiritual aspects.

The depicted woman is a symbol of strength and independence. She is a fearless traveller, venturing alone to Gozo, a destination that promises profound emotions, fresh discoveries, and experiences deeply rooted in the local heritage, culture, and people. Gozo is depicted as a secure haven, brimming with opportunities and mystical allure.

To add a digital dimension to the experience, the panels featured QR codes that allowed visitors to access an online form and receive a digital booklet containing photos from the exhibition.

The captivating photo exhibition was meticulously curated by VisitMalta Italia, Malta’s tourism promotion agency in Italy, in cooperation with VisitGozo.
