ITS Students Triumph with 3 Medals at European Competition

In a showcase of talent and skill, students from the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) made their mark at the 36th AEHT Annual Conference held in Vilnius, Lithuania. Proudly affiliated with the esteemed European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools (AEHT), ITS stands at the forefront of this competitive arena.

Under the guidance of their mentors, ITS lecturers Charlotte Geronimi, Helena Micallef, Joseph Casingena, Emie Briffa, Tara Darmanin, and MaryGrace Vella, students Iven Tabone, Thomas Tonna, Laura Spiteri, Alizea Sciberras, and Stevie Sammut, showcased their talents in categories ranging from Tourist Destination, Cocktail, Culinary Decathlon, Wine Service, to Front Office.

Notably, student Kylie Bonnici and ITS Senior Lecturer and Coordinator Claude Scicluna were integral members of the Judging Team for the Restaurant Service Competition, alongside a panel composed of industry professionals from various European nations.

Competing against esteemed institutions across Europe, the ITS students clinched impressive victories, securing a Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal in Wine, Culinary Decathlon, and Front Office categories respectively.

The AEHT, an International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) enjoying consultative status with the Council of Europe, aims to foster a European perspective within Hotel and Tourism Schools. ITS, led by CEO Mr. Pierre Fenech as a member of the Executive Board, proudly upholds its membership within this prestigious association, further solidifying its commitment to excellence in the field of hospitality and tourism education.
