Local Play to Feature in Slovenia Festival This April

GUTZ, written by Alex Weenink and Kurt Gabriel Meli, is a coming-of-age classroom play for post-secondary schools (15+) that explores young people’s relationships with power, shame and the act of standing up and speaking out against the louder voices in our lives. The play is set to take place in Malta on 8 & 9 March before being showcased in Slovenia in April.

GUTZ is set to tour the Maltese islands’ Sixth Forms in March and April 2024 and will also feature in a festival at the Slovene National Theatre Nova Gorica, from 17-19 April 2024, along with another seven classroom plays presented by participating (European Theatre Convention) ETC Member Theatres.

The play revolves around Jack, who has been sneaking into his old sixth form all year. In those classrooms, memories, and relationships were formed… Why? Because he’s wondering why he never had the guts to say what he needed to say in those classrooms.

GUTZ belongs to ETC’s Young Europe IV, which is a three-year collaborative programme dedicated to expanding the canon of European theatre literature.

Reminisce your old sixth form days through this play. Book your tickets now for the 8 & 9 March 2024 – very limited seats available!
