Unveiling the Educational Programme at LuginsLand of Art

LuginsLand of Art has initiated an Educational Programme, presenting a series of discussion panels and workshops exploring diverse aspects of art and its interconnections, spanning architecture, archaeology, community engagement, and artistic heritage. This initiative aims to cultivate a platform for dialogue while providing a distinctive opportunity to witness the ongoing construction and preservation endeavours at the villa.

Each session entails a guided tour of the villa, a chance to behold the collective exhibition ‘Space & Time’ curated by the esteemed Slovakian set designer and architect, Boris Kudlička, and engaging discussions with local and international artists, art historians, architects, and professionals in the field. Attendees also have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of metal and stone craftsmanship by AX Group.

The inaugural panel, ‘Art & Architecture’, which took place on 23 March, delved into the intrinsic relationship between these disciplines, featuring insights from distinguished guests Professor Alex Torpiano and Art Historian Dominika Rostocka, illuminating the artistic sensibilities informing architectural aesthetics.

The subsequent session, ‘Art & Archaeology’, explored how archaeological discoveries shape spaces and their character. Artist Victor Agius and senior archaeologist Annalise Agius from the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage provided valuable perspectives on the significance of art in archaeological research.

The programme extends until the end of May, encompassing sessions on Art & Conservation, Art & Technology, and Art & Legacy, each featuring renowned experts offering insights into historical, social, and anthropological dimensions.

This initiative presents a rare opportunity for both local and international communities to gain exclusive insights into the world of art at LuginsLand of Art, while engaging in captivating discussions on its myriad facets.

The Educational Programme schedule:
Art & Conservation: 4 May
Art & Technology: 18 May
Art & Legacy: 31 May
