Oil on canvas by Henry Falzon
Gallery 23 in Balzan is currently hosting an exhibition titled ‘Land & Sea’ until 26 April, featuring the works of three esteemed artists: Christopher Saliba, Marisa Attard, and Henry Falzon.
This collaborative showcase celebrates the beauty of land and seascapes across the Maltese islands, with each artist bringing their unique style and perspective to the forefront.
Christopher Saliba’s expressionist paintings offer a bold interpretation of landscapes, focusing on vibrant colors and gestural brushwork to convey a sense of texture and depth. His use of red hues adds a dramatic touch to his works, imbuing them with a sense of urgency and vitality.
Marisa Attard’s art explores the intersection between humanity and nature, with quirky characters inhabiting the spaces between land and sea. Her playful depictions defy gravity and convention, inviting viewers to engage with her work on a deeper level. Through a mix of pen, ink, watercolor, and collage, Attard creates whimsical scenes that encourage closer inspection.
