Ħtija Tiegħu? – Good Friday Pageant in the Streets of Marsa This April
The Pageant Group Marija Reġina of Marsa will be organising a pageant in the streets of the two parishes of Marsa, starting at 5:00pm from the Parish Church of Marija Reġina in Triq Nerik Sacco, Marsa.
The event will begin by depicting key moments from the life of Christ, including His triumphal entry on Palm Sunday, followed by a parade of Roman soldiers and the condemnation of Jesus Christ to death.
Throughout the pageant, various characters from both the Old and New Testament will be portrayed in authentic costumes, enhancing the atmosphere of Holy Week as they process through the streets of Marsa.
At the end of the procession, the group will stage a dramatic representation of the crucifixion, including the death and resurrection of Christ, at Triq Azzopardi, Marsa, right in front of the Parish House.
The Pageant will feature over 350 participants, including the 1st Marsa Scouts Group, the Roman Band, and the two Marsa bands – Marija Reġina Band and Trinita Qaddisa Band.
Notably, this year’s Pageant marks the 55th anniversary since its establishment in 1970, making it the first of its kind in the streets of Malta during that time.
