Hollywood star Millie Bobby Brown is in Malta for the filming of the third Enola Holmes movie, with scenes from the Netflix production being shot at several locations across the islands.

Brown, who plays the title role of the clever young detective Enola Holmes, was seen in Naxxar earlier this week. She was accompanied by her husband, Jake Bongiovi, son of rock icon Jon Bon Jovi. The actress also gave fans a glimpse of Malta by sharing a photo on Instagram featuring a local backdrop.

Production for Enola Holmes 3 kicked off in April, and filming is now underway under the direction of Philip Barantini, best known for the Netflix crime drama Adolescence. The film follows Enola on a new mystery that brings her to Malta, where, according to the official synopsis, “personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”

The screenplay is once again written by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Jack Thorne, who has penned all three films in the franchise.

British actress Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Enola’s mother, was also spotted on the island, visiting the popular Popeye Village attraction in Mellieħa.

As cameras continue to roll across the country, Malta’s historic locations are set to play a starring role alongside Brown in what promises to be another exciting chapter in the Enola Holmes saga.
