Beppe Caruana Takes Blue Bird to the Stage in Second Rehearsal of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026
Malta’s Junior Eurovision representative Beppe has completed his second rehearsal, with new footage offering a first glimpse of his performance of Blue Bird. The 11-year-old will take to the stage in ninth position at Saturday’s Grand Final.
The excitement is building ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, with footage from the second rehearsals of all 16 participating countries now released, offering a first glimpse of this year’s performances in action.
Among the newly released clips is a 30-second preview of Malta’s representative, 11-year-old Beppe, performing Blue Bird on the Junior Eurovision stage.
Beppe completed his second rehearsal on Wednesday, following his first rehearsal earlier in the week. While the official photographs offered an initial look at the staging, the latest footage gives audiences a taste of how Malta’s performance comes together on stage.
The performance features a large aeroplane prop, with Beppe joined by five dancers: Matthias, Zelenio, Faith, Cristina and Stella.
Speaking after his second rehearsal, Beppe shared his excitement, saying: “I’m having a blast on stage! I’m really happy with how everything is going, and I can’t wait for Saturday!”
With all 16 countries having completed their individual rehearsals, preparations now move towards the final run-throughs ahead of Friday’s Jury Show and Saturday’s Grand Final.
Malta will perform Blue Bird in ninth position during the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The Grand Final will be broadcast live on TVM on Saturday, 24 October, at 9pm.
The result will be determined by a 50/50 split between professional juries from the 16 participating countries and the online public vote. Viewers in Malta can also vote for their own country, giving Beppe their support through the official website, jesc.tv.
Online voting will take place in two windows: the first opening on Friday ahead of the Grand Final, and the second during Saturday’s live show, after all 16 countries have performed. Viewers will be able to vote for three songs, including Malta’s entry.
