Third Edition of Tarxien’s Sweet Festival this Saturday
As Christmas creeps closer and closer, it’s about that time of year when we collectively allow ourselves as many treats as we desire. This Saturday, November 25, Tarxien’s Sweet Festival returns for a third edition that’ll satisfy all of our sugar cravings
This weekend, head to Triq St Marija in Ħal-Tarxien, as it will be transformed into a vibrant festive candyland. It’s the perfect way to decompress after a long week: The festival will have an abundance of dessert options and candy booths with chocolate, ice cream, classic sweets, pastries, and all kinds of other sugary treats! However, there will be more than just candy to entertain visitors at the festivals, as the Tarxien Local Council has prepared a variety of entertainment.
Attendees can expect attractions made out of sweets and chocolate, courtesy of Primavera Caterers – these ones are probably best enjoyed visually. There will also be some stunning Christmas exhibitions, as well as a Christmas Market, where you can find handmade goods and possibly get a headstart on your Christmas shopping. Moreover, visitors will get to witness the lighting of the Christmas lights along the streets of Ħal-Tarxien. It makes for a gorgeous site, one that is not to be missed. Last but not least, there will be several singing and dancing performances creating a lively atmosphere throughout the festival, with Versatile Band taking the stage from 9.30 pm onwards.
The MTA, Port Region, Secretariat for Local Government, and Tarxien Local Council are collaborating to organise this event. It’s a great opportunity to engage with the neighbourhood and enjoy some family time. In just a few days, you could be relaxing with a hot chocolate in one hand, a candy cane in the other, and pockets brimming with treats for the ride home.
The festival will begin at 6 pm and end at around midnight, and admission is free for everyone! So, mark your calendars and make sure your cheat day falls on November 25 because this special festival is not to be missed!
