Discover Malta's Woodland Wonders With a Guided Nature Walk in Buskett
Calling all nature enthusiasts! BirdLife Malta’s Events & Activities Committee is excited to invite you on a delightful stroll through the scenic Buskett area. Join them for a leisurely circular nature walk that explores Malta’s most extensive woodland on Sunday 11 February.
The adventure kicks off at 8:30 AM sharp from the bus stop (Verdala) near Verdala Palace. Be sure to arrive by 8:15 AM to gather with the group. Parking won’t be an issue – there’s plenty available in the area!
The route is filled with fascinating stops. Wander through Buskett Gardens, Ta’ Żuta Quarry, and Dingli’s panoramic road, taking in sights like Bronze Age settlements and Grain Silos. Keep an eye out for charming chapels along the way, such as Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Annunciation Chapel!
And of course, don’t forget to pack your camera! Buskett will certainly impress you with its lush greenery, winding trails, and diverse flora and fauna. As you wander through its shaded paths, you’ll encounter towering Aleppo pines, majestic oak trees, and fragrant citrus groves.
Home to a variety of bird species, including migratory birds, Buskett is a prime destination for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike. Its tranquil atmosphere invites visitors to unwind and connect with the natural world, making it a favourite spot for both locals and tourists.
This outing is suitable for adventurers of all ages and skill levels. Expect some gentle inclines and rough terrain, covering a distance of around 12 km. So, lace up those walking shoes, and let the exploration begin!
Best of all, participation won’t cost a penny! Yes, it’s completely free to join. However, donations to support conservation efforts are greatly appreciated. Reserve your spot by filling out the Google Form before 8 February.
