Joe Anthony Gauci, a 23-year-old Maltese-Australian professional football player, has joined Premier League club Aston Villa as a goalkeeper. Gauci’s journey in the sport began with a scholarship deal at Central Coast Mariners, followed by stints at Adelaide City and Melbourne City. In 2020, he secured a scholarship contract with Adelaide United before making his A-League debut in 2021.
Internationally, Gauci earned his first call-up to the Australia national team in 2022 as a train-on player. He marked his debut in a friendly match against Ecuador in 2023.
