Step into Spanish Culture: La Semana Santa de España Exhibition in Mqabba

Delve into Spanish cultural and religious traditions through over 200 miniature statues, complemented by photos, paintings, and more. The exhibition is set to take place in Mqabba, from 17 March to 7 April. Opening hours vary, providing ample opportunity for visitors to explore this captivating display. 

Experience the La Semana Santa de España exhibition in Mqabba, featuring over 200 miniature statues replicating those from various Spanish cities.

Crafted by local volunteers, each statue depicts scenes from the Passion of Christ, adorned with intricate velvet clothes and handmade gold and silver embroidery, showcasing local artistry and skill.

Alongside the statues, the exhibition showcases hundreds of photos of Spanish processions, paintings, costumes, medals, and badges, complemented by audiovisual features.

Organised by the Santa Marija Mqabba Youth Section and supported by the Spanish Embassy in Malta, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the rich cultural and religious traditions of Spain.

Opening hours vary, with extended times on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday, ensuring ample opportunity for visitors to explore this captivating display of devotion and craftsmanship.
