Notte Bianca Returns This October
Malta’s annual arts and culture festival, Notte Bianca, is making its much-anticipated return this October. Every year, on the first Saturday of the month, Valletta’s historical cityscape transforms into an open-air celebration of creativity, where art, music, and culture take centre stage. This event is not only one of Malta’s largest festivals, but it also offers a unique cultural experience that is completely free of charge.
For one magical night, Valletta’s streets, piazzas, historic churches, grand palaces, and museums are turned into stages for a multitude of live performances and captivating concerts. The city’s architectural beauty provides the perfect backdrop for a vibrant mix of artistic expressions. From contemporary dance to classical music, theatrical performances, art exhibitions, and modern installations, Notte Bianca offers a rich and varied program that caters to all tastes and age groups.
Valletta itself, from City Gate to Fort St Elmo, will be bathed in festive lights, with an air of excitement and energy filling every corner of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Many of the capital’s charming cafes, bars, and restaurants will extend their hours well into the night, giving festivalgoers the chance to indulge in a variety of Maltese and international cuisine. Whether you want to enjoy a glass of wine while watching a street performance or savour a leisurely dinner with family and friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy during this unforgettable night.
For the convenience of all attendees, public transportation will run late into the night. Special ferry services from Sliema and the Three Cities to Valletta will be extended until 2 am, ensuring that visitors can travel to and from the event with ease.
Notte Bianca promises an extraordinary night of discovery, entertainment, and artistic delight—offering a cultural experience that truly captures the spirit of Malta and its dynamic arts scene.
