Michael Jackson’s Biggest Tribute Show Comes to Malta This August
If you’re holidaying in Malta this summer and fancy a night out that’s a bit different from the usual bars and harbour cruises, keep your diary free for My Name is Michael. It’s the island’s first time hosting what’s billed as the biggest show dedicated to Michael Jackson, and it’s coming to Valletta for two nights only on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 August 2025 at the open-air Pjazza Teatru Rjal.
The show features a full team of professional dancers, slick choreography, and a headline performer who’s spent years perfecting Jackson’s legendary moves and stage presence. If you’ve ever seen those proper West End or European touring tribute productions, you’ll know it’s far from a pub impersonator in a hat and glove. This act has toured across major venues, drawing crowds who want the closest thing you can get to seeing the King of Pop live, right down to the famous moonwalk and that gravity-defying lean.
The venue itself is pretty special. Pjazza Teatru Rjal sits in the remains of Valletta’s old Royal Opera House, which was bombed in the war and later turned into an open-air theatre. It’s now a buzzing spot for summer shows, slap bang at the entrance of the city. So you can soak up a bit of local history and then watch a huge stage show under the Maltese night sky. It absolutely beats just another night at the hotel bar.
Tickets start from around €15.91 for wheelchair-accessible seating, with standard seats ranging from about €26 to €31 depending on how close you want to be to the action. And if your plans change or you come down with something, there’s a Refundable Booking option so you won’t be left out of pocket.
The show kicks off at 9 pm, which is perfect timing after a day exploring Valletta’s narrow streets or having dinner nearby. Expect all the hits you’d hope for, from Smooth Criminal and Bad to Billie Jean, plus energetic dance routines and those iconic MJ jackets and hats.
So if you’re the type who can’t resist a bit of Thriller on the dancefloor, or just fancy seeing why people still talk about Michael Jackson’s showmanship, this could be the highlight of your trip. It’s likely to sell fast for two nights only, so grab your tickets, sort your seat, and get ready for a proper thriller or show at the peak of Maltese summer.
