Introducing Malta’s Nomad Heritage Card, A Gateway to Living History

Malta has always been a crossroads of cultures, where Neolithic temples older than Stonehenge stand beside Baroque palaces, medieval streets, and wartime fortifications. For those embracing the digital nomad lifestyle, the islands are already a dream base with sunshine, sea views and great connectivity. But now, Malta offers something unique that goes beyond fast Wi-Fi and seaside cafés: the Nomad Heritage Card.

A cultural pass with a difference

The Nomad Heritage Card is an initiative by Residency Malta, created in collaboration with Heritage Malta, as an exclusive benefit for holders of the Nomad Residence Permit, Malta’s official digital nomad visa.

So, what is the permit? In short, it’s Malta’s residency programme for remote professionals. Freelancers, entrepreneurs and employees of foreign companies can apply if they can work from anywhere and want to call Malta home. The permit allows nomads to live on the islands while continuing their remote work for clients and companies abroad. And with it comes access to the Nomad Heritage Card; a cultural perk that connects you with 8,000 years of history.

Where it can take you

Nomads on the permit can now apply for the exclusive Nomad Heritage Card, available on a first-come, first-served basis until stocks last. The card grants Main Applicants and their Plus Ones free entry to the majority of Heritage Malta sites.

This portfolio spans a stunning range of cultural landmarks: archaeological sites, Baroque auberges and palaces, catacombs, forts, and UNESCO-listed Neolithic monuments. From ancient engineering to wartime resilience, these sites are far more than tourist attractions; they are living touch points that embody Malta’s history and identity

Why it matters for nomads

Relocating to a new country is about more than internet speeds or coffee shops. It’s about belonging. The Nomad Heritage Card helps digital nomads go beyond being visitors by weaving them into Malta’s story and community, and becoming, as Heritage Malta’s slogan puts it: “Part of Us”.
