Valletta Comes Alive for One Magical Night This Saturday for Notte Bianca

On Saturday 4 October 2025, Malta’s capital city, Valletta, will transform into a giant open-air cultural playground for Notte Bianca – the country’s most anticipated night of the year.

Every October, this much-loved festival turns Valletta into a hive of creativity, with its majestic streets, squares, gardens and hidden courtyards brimming with life. The city pulses with performances, installations and artistic surprises, welcoming thousands of visitors who come to soak up the atmosphere.

This year promises to be the biggest edition yet. With more than 350 local and international artists bringing over 70 projects to Valletta, the programme spans every imaginable art form: live music, theatre, dance, visual arts, street performances, and interactive experiences. Families can expect shows created especially for children, while adults can dive into cutting-edge performances and late-night concerts.

For 2025, Notte Bianca introduces a brand-new highlight: the Church of St Ursula will open its doors for the first time as part of the festival, offering a rare opportunity to enjoy art in one of Valletta’s most atmospheric spaces.

The beauty of Notte Bianca is the freedom it gives you to create your own adventure. You can follow one of the curated festival routes, each guiding you through a different artistic theme, or simply wander through Valletta’s winding streets and let the night surprise you. Whichever way you choose, the experience is designed to be unforgettable.

Valletta itself is as much a star of the night as the artists. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is a treasure trove of Baroque architecture, grand piazzas and charming side streets. During Notte Bianca, these landmarks are reimagined with lights, sounds and performances that reveal the city in an entirely new way.

Why Notte Bianca? Because in one extraordinary night you’ll see Malta’s culture in full colour: bold, diverse and bursting with energy, all against the backdrop of its historic capital.
