The Malta show is expected to thread the new material with the songs many people grew up hearing on the radio or humming along in the car. You Give Me Something still has that warm, gravelly pull that made it an instant breakthrough, while Wonderful World and I Won’t Let You Go continue to land with the same sincerity they always have. And then there is Broken Strings, his hit duet with Nelly Furtado, which remains one of his most popular tracks, capable of shifting the atmosphere of a venue within seconds. 

Malta in early May is an easy sell. Days are long, the heat is comfortable rather than punishing, and the evenings bring stunning sunsets.
