Karta Festa 2026 Brings Carnival Craft and Science Together at Esplora

Taking place from 14 to 17 February 2026, Karta Festa returns to Esplora this Carnival season with a colourful programme of hands-on science, creative workshops, and interactive activities inspired by Malta’s Carnival traditions.

Drawing inspiration from the techniques and creativity behind Carnival float-making, Karta Festa 2026 features live science shows, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination. Visitors are encouraged to take part, experiment, and think creatively while discovering how science connects with everyday life and cultural traditions.

Programme highlights include a live science show exploring the water cycle and water conservation, alongside workshops focused on recycling, textiles, and sustainable materials. Younger visitors can enjoy storytelling sessions inspired by environmental and marine themes, while Science on the Spot activities invite participants to design, build, and restore Carnival-inspired creations.

Carnival is synonymous with colour, imagination, and skilled craftsmanship. Through Karta Festa, Esplora places creativity at the heart of learning, showing how artistic expression and scientific principles work hand in hand.

Karta Festa 2026 takes place at the Esplora Interactive Science Centre from 14 to 17 February 2026, coinciding with the peak of the Carnival season. It offers families a lively, hands-on way to experience science through one of Malta’s most dynamic cultural celebrations.
