Good News! A Week of Sunshine Ahead in Malta

If you’re visiting Malta this week, you’ve picked a good one. The latest forecast from Malta International Airport is showing a steady run of bright, mild days ahead, with plenty of sunshine and very comfortable temperatures for exploring.

Here’s how it’s shaping up on the weather front.

Monday starts the week on a clear, sunny note, with highs around 18°C and a light westerly breeze. It’s ideal weather for stretching your legs around Valletta, wandering through the Upper Barrakka Gardens, or taking your time along the Sliema promenade. Once the sun goes down, temperatures fall to around 11°C, so keep a light jacket handy for the evening.

Tuesday is set to be even brighter, nudging up to 19°C during the day. With moderate winds and steady sunshine, it’s a perfect excuse to plan a longer day out. Mdina feels especially good in this kind of weather. Clear skies, warm light on the limestone, and far less crowds than peak summer months.

Wednesday remains mainly sunny, again reaching about 19°C. Winds ease slightly and shift direction later on, though nothing strong is forecast. If you’ve been considering a boat trip or a ferry ride across the Grand Harbour, midweek looks promising.

By Thursday, a bit more cloud drifts in, and temperatures sit closer to 17°C. It will still be pleasant and bright, just delivering a slightly softer light in the afternoon. It’s good museum weather if you want to balance outdoor exploring with somewhere indoors. Take a look at Esplora in Kalkara.

Friday stays partly cloudy with highs around 17°C. No major changes, no heavy rain predicted, just steady, mild conditions that make getting around easy. Perhaps head over to Gozo.

The weekend looks particularly inviting. Saturday returns to full sunshine, climbing back to 18°C with light south-westerly winds. It’s the sort of day perfect for a coastal walk, perhaps around Dingli Cliffs or St Peter’s Pool, even if you’re not diving in.

Sunday remains fair and settled, again around 18°C with gentle breezes. A relaxed lunch outdoors will feel entirely reasonable. Marsaxlokk in the south is a popular Sunday lunch spot with both locals and visitors alike. Get there early and explore the famous fish market.

February in Malta often surprises visitors. It may not be beach-lounging season, but it’s arguably one of the best times to see the island properly. Comfortable temperatures, blue skies, and space to move around without summer intensity. In short, if you’re here this week, make the most of it. Malta is looking bright.
