Andrea Bocelli chooses Malta for new musical project

In the last few days, Malta has played host to international tenor Andrea Bocelli’s new musical project; a project that was coordinated by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Andrea Bocelli is an Italian opera singer, songwriter, tenor and record producer, who rose to fame in 1994, winning the preliminary round of the 44th Sanremo Music Festival. Since 1982, Bocelli has recorded 15 solo studio albums, of both pop and classical music, three greatest selling hits and nine complete operas.

In collaboration with the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation, the Malta Tourism Authority and the MTA, Bocelli chose spectacular views in a number of locations in Malta, which will form part of a project that will be launched in a few weeks’ time.

This would mark another occasion of the Islands being promoted around the world, through music and visual arts. Tourism minister Julia Farrugia Portelli welcomed the tenor and emphasised the importance of this project for Malta, as the best showcase on a cultural and touristic level.
