Emma Muscat’s hit single strikes gold

Maltese singer Emma Muscat’s summer hit single Meglio di Sera has been certified gold by FIMI Italia. The talented 21-year-old, who featured on the intensely popular Italian television show Amici de Maria de Filippi, released her latest single featuring Astol and international Spanish singer-songwriter Alvaro de Luna. Emma has achieved two gold record awards in less than a year.

What does achieving a gold record award mean?

The prestigious Golden Accolade, also referred to as Disco D’Oro in Italian, is awarded based on sales achieved on the song. This implies that over 35,000 units have been sold, according to the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana. Meglio di Sera has also reached more than seven million streams on Spotify and over seven million views on YouTube.

The singer said that she is extremely grateful for the achievement and confessed that while growing up, many implied and even insisted that a person can not have a successful career based on music alone. She hoped, therefore, that her achievement could and should be an example to all those with determination and perseverance, as they too can achieve any goal that they set their minds to.
