Vibe FM is the official radio station for MCAST

Monday morning saw a new academic year kicking off at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. This year the MCAST student population exceeds 7,000 students.

MCAST and Vibe FM used the very first day of MCAST Freshers’ Days to announce a collaboration between the two that will see Vibe FM act as the Official Radio Station of MCAST. The announcement happened live on The Morning Vibe, hosted by Abel, JD and Martina via a live link with the MCAST Campus in Paola.

The ultimate aim of this partnership is to help MCAST build yet another link between itself and the industry, enabling its students to benefit from hands-on experience via internships with the company and more!

“Establishing strong links with over 1830 industry partners is one of our College’s key strengths. These collaborations have a major influence on our courses as we ensure that our students are equipped with the relevant knowledge, skills and competences which will lead them to successful careers.

Our industry on campus vision is also beneficial to partners as we provide training and share our expertise across various sectors to strengthen businesses. We are delighted to establish links with Vibe FM, and this is an excellent opportunity for students to learn alongside media professionals. We will also encourage them to produce and host their original content.”

Professor Joachim James Calleja MCAST Principal and CEO

“Having been in the very first student intake of MCAST back in 2001, this collaboration is exciting for me on a number of levels.

We hope to continue to inspire future generations to aim high and continue to do better. As Vibe FM we understand the value of being able to use this partnership to engage with the student population of MCAST, which nowadays runs into thousands!

Moving forward, we have very exciting plans and this announcement is only the beginning of what I am sure will be a fruitful partnership that will ultimately benefit MCAST students in more ways than one.”
