Malta chooses Ike and Kaya for Junior Eurovision 2021
Yesterday morning, the Maltese Islands selected adorable duo Ike and Kaya to represent the country with a song entitled My Home, at the Junior Eurovision 2021.
Broadcast on Television Malta (TVM), the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest featured 12 songs and artists, who competed for the unique opportunity to travel to Paris later this year, for the Junior Eurovision. Ultimately, the young pair Ike and Kaya, who had impressed audiences nation-wide with their appearance on last year’s edition of Malta’s Got Talent, won the competition with My Home.
The jury of the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest was comprised of singers Destiny Chukunyere and Maxine Pace, as well as maestro Sigmund Mifsud and the results were decided through a 50% jury and 50% public vote. Out of the 12 entries only the top 3 were revealed:
Ike and Kaya- My Home
Mycha, Kylie & Denzel Jo- ‘Running Free’
Yulan Law- ‘On my Way’
The rap-infused ballad centres around missing home and and building and nurturing strong relationships with family and friends. The lyrics and music of My Home were written by Owen Luellen, Muxu and Cyprian Cassar.
