A great deal of local producers have submitted their entries to take part in the first edition of the Malta Film Awards, which are set to take place at the start of the new year.
In a statement, the Malta Film Commission said that no less than 72 projects were submitted for the awards, and they range from documentaries to short films, feature films to television series. At this stage, the entries will be delivered to a multidisciplinary jury of local and international experts for deliberation.
“80 producers, 60 directors and 340 actors will be the protagonists of next year’s Malta Film Awards,” said the Commission, adding that a large number of crew members from a number of departments, including cinematography, hair, make-up, production and costume will be joining too. With the theme Celebrating Our Story, the first edition of the awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 29 of January, 2022, at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC). It’s being organised by the Commission, in collaboration with the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS).
