John Newman headlining Valletta’s NYE celebrations

Have you heard the news? British singer John Newman, best known for his track Love Me Again, will be performing at this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations in Malta, which will be taking place at St George’s Square in the capital city.

What will be taking place on the day?

According to Jason Micallef, the chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency (VCA), the show will include a 10-minute spectacular firework display on the Grand Harbour. This will become an annual appointment for New Year’s Eve and can be enjoyed from all areas and angles of the Grand Harbour, he said. Just like previous years, the spectacle will be broadcast live on all local TV stations from 10:30pm.

In addition to Newman headlining the super event, other artists will also be performing, including Debrii and The Palace String Orchestra, featuring Aiden, Gaia, Jasmine, Klinsmann, Megan and Ozzylino. The event will also be presented by Abel, JD and Martina.

What about tickets?

Here’s some more good news! Entrance is absolutely free. However, tickets available on a first-come-first-serve basis are to be collected from the Valletta Cultural Agency premises on Republic Street in Valletta as of today, after 10am. A maximum of four tickets per person can be collected and due to the current health authority regulations to combat the COVID-19 spread, ticket numbers are limited.

The Valletta National New Year’s Eve 2021 Celebrations are organised by G7 Events and supported through a partnership agreement with the Culture Ministry. The event is also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority.
