Is Malta Predicted to Qualify from Semi-Final 2 of Eurovision 2022?

Bookmakers have just published the odds for each semi-final, predicting who will be making it to the final on Saturday. Unfortunately, as of yet, Emma Muscat is speculated to finish around 12th place, missing the final by just a few points. Earlier last week it was revealed that Emma will be singing her song ‘I Am What I Am’  in 6th place, sandwiched between Georgia and San Marino.

Finland will be opening the show while the Czech Republic is set to close the show with their banger ‘Lights Off’. Fan favourite Sweden representative Cornelia Jakobs will be performing right before the closing entry in position number 17 with her song ‘Hold Me Closer’.

Current Odds for the Second Semi-Final of Eurovision 2022

While 12th place does not seem optimal, the possibility of qualifying and doing well is definitely still there! Odds tend to shift drastically once rehearsals are set in motion. One cannot also forget that these are just mere predictions, and nothing is set in stone. In 2021, eight of the 10 expected qualifiers made it through to the Grand Final from the first semi-final. Belgium and Israel (who were predicted to finish 11th and 12th respectively), squeezed through the final, taking the spot of Romania and Croatia.

While the odds set by the bookmakers may be a good indicator of what’s to expect, the Maltese contingent can still pull through and achieve an incredible result!
