Malta made its debut in the inaugural Junior Eurovision in 2003. They have only missed two editions since then, in 2011 and 2012. Customarily, Malta selects their delegate through a national selection, with an exception in 2013,2014, and 2015.
Malta has two wins under her belt, one in 2013 when they made a comeback with Gaia Cauchi and her song ‘The start’, and one in 2015 with Destiny and ‘Not my soul’. Two fourth-place finishes, those of Federica Falzon in 2014 and Daniel Testa in 2008 round out their ranking. Last year, Malta was represented by Ike and Kaya, where they finished twelfth.
