Starting this Thursday 13 October, Valletta’s Church of Saint James will host Valletta Resounds, a production fusing theatrical storytelling and classical music
From 13 October, running at noon every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 29 October, a new project combining historical narrative and Baroque music will take place at the Church of St James in Valletta.
Featuring sopranos Dorothy Bezzina, Marouska Attard and Dorothy Baldacchino, with accompaniment on Baroque harp, Baroque violin, Baroque cello, organ and psaltery, the performances will include works by Bach, Handel and Maltese sacred composer Francesco Decesare, and is written and directed by Jeremy Grech. Examining several epochs of Malta’s history, from the Knights of St John through to colonialism, Valletta Resounds offers unique artistic insights into Malta’s civil and creative history.
The concert is performed in English with translations of the text in Spanish, German, French and Italian.
