Annual Light Festival to Take Place in Gozo This Friday

The evening is expected to start at 18:00. Entry is free of charge.

In Gozo’s majestic Cittadella, a festival of lights entitled ‘Lejl Imkebbes’ is expected to take place on Friday, 30 June, after it was postponed in May due to bad weather. More than 30,000 candles of all sizes and shapes will be used to illuminate a spectacular 360-degree image of Gozo’s hills, valleys, cities, and churches. This will create a charming, enchanted atmosphere and provide guests a clear view of Malta across the water.

Additionally, there will be a range of events throughout the evening, including historical recreations, extended and subsidised museum admissions, openings of new public attractions, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. A range of local and foreign food stalls is also expected to illuminate Gozo’s fortified city.

The evening is expected to start at 18:00. Entry is free of charge.
