Gather, Feast, Repeat at Henry J. Beans

Gather friends for comfort food and laughter at Henry J. Beans. With generous portions and a welcoming vibe, it’s the perfect spot for a delicious night out!

As summer slips away and the darker nights start rolling in my friends and I have been craving two things: proper comfort food and good laughs. You know, the kind of food that hugs you from the inside. So naturally, we found ourselves heading to the popular all-American eatery, Henry J. Beans. It’s the ultimate place for tasty bites, generous portions, and endless laughter with great company.

First things first, Henry J. Beans is open every single day, yes, all 365 of them, from noon to 11:30pm. Whether you’re craving a lazy lunch or a late-night feast, they’ve got you covered. Believe me, their menu is brimming with enough delicious options to keep you coming back for more. Plus, the added perk of free parking makes it even better.

As soon as you walk in, the cosy booths beckon, The vibe? Pure Americana. Vintage Coca-Cola signs, retro jukeboxes, and big screens showing sports from around the world. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home the moment you sit down. But let’s get to the best part, the food.

A group of three friends and I went last week, with every intention of keeping it simple, but that plan quickly went out the window when we saw a brand new menu addition of The All-Star Champions Platter. This feast-for-the-eyes included Louisiana chicken wings, BBQ pork ribs, corn dogs, loaded potato skins with bacon and coriander, fried mozzarella sticks, beef mini sliders, nachos with cheese, garlic bread, and a trio of dips. It’s an absolute monster, and perfect for sharing, if you’re willing to share, that is!

The food hit the table just as our cocktails arrived, a classic Margarita and a brightly coloured Azure Colada, the latter a tropical blue dream of white rum, Blue Curacao, coconut puree, and pineapple juice. It goes without saying everything on the platter was spot on. The wings were perfectly tangy, the mini sliders juicy, and the nachos absolutely cheesy and impossible to resist.

But, being the ambitious foodies we are, we didn’t stop there. We went ahead and ordered the Ribs and Wings Combo, featuring Henry J. Beans’ signature BBQ ribs and Chicago Voodoo wings. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and coated in sticky BBQ sauce, while the wings had just the right amount of kick. It’s the ultimate combo for anyone who loves their food messy and full of flavour.

One of us, trying to balance all the indulgence, opted for the Yellow Stone Chicken Salad. Now, this salad seriously ups the ante for those looking for a healthier bite. It’s grilled chicken breast on a bed of fresh greens, tossed in a zingy lime and cumin mayo, and topped with a rich peanut sauce. It was refreshing, but still hearty enough to keep up with the heavier dishes on the table.

Last but not least, a member of our catch-up crew was buzzing to try the BBQ Chicken Burger, which features a juicy grilled chicken fillet topped with crispy bacon, melted cheese, caramelised onions, and tangy BBQ sauce. Honestly, even the salad enthusiasts amongst us couldn’t resist sneaking a bite, its flavours were spot-on, and it was humongous, definitely not your average burger.

Feeling satisfied but not entirely defeated, we took our drinks to the terrace to soak in the view of St. George’s Bay as the sun went down. The cool breeze and laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect way to wind down after such a feast. They even have a daily happy hour to keep the good times flowing.

So, if you’re looking for a fantastic spot to fill your belly and lift your spirits as the nights get longer, Henry J. Beans is the place. With great food, cocktails, and even better company, it’s hard to go wrong. Trust me, your taste buds, and your friends will thank you!
