Special Night Buses Announced for Isle of MTV Malta 2026

Heading to Malta’s biggest summer music event? With Katy Perry and Afrojack headlining and Aidan opening the show, Malta Public Transport is adding extra late-night buses to help festival-goers get back to their hotels, resorts and homes after the final encore

The music will stop. The lights will fade. Your ears might still be ringing the next morning, but getting back to your hotel after Isle of MTV Malta 2026 doesn’t have to be the hardest part of the night.

Malta Public Transport has announced special late-night bus services for the festival, making it easier for visitors to enjoy one of Malta’s biggest summer events and still find their way back after the final encore.

Taking place at The Granaries (Fosos) in Floriana, this year’s edition promises a spectacular night of international music, with global superstar Katy Perry and electronic music heavyweight Afrojack leading the line-up as headliners. Opening the show will be Maltese singer Aidan, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of live performances under the Maltese summer sky.

Special services will leave from Valletta from 11:00pm onwards, connecting festival-goers with many of Malta’s most popular tourist areas, including:

  • St Julian’s and Sliema
  • Gżira and Msida
  • Qawra and Buġibba
  • Mellieħa and northern Malta
  • Mosta, Rabat and central Malta
  • Marsaskala, Marsaxlokk and southern Malta
  • The Three Cities and surrounding areas

So whether your accommodation is beside the sea, in the city, or somewhere a little more peaceful, there should be a bus waiting to help you call it a night.

Among the extra services operating after the concert are:

S12 – Valletta to Msida, St Julian’s, Pembroke, Baħar ic-Ċagħaq, Qawra and Buġibba
(departures from 11:00pm until 1:30am)

S41 – Valletta to St Paul’s Bay, Mellieħa and Ċirkewwa
(great for visitors staying in Malta’s northern resorts)

S47 – serving Birkirkara, Lija, Balzan, Iklin, Naxxar and Mosta

S80, S85, S90 and S94 – connecting visitors travelling towards Birżebbuġa, Marsaxlokk, Marsaskala, Żabbar and Xgħajra

Regular night routes will also continue operating, with additional buses added on popular connections throughout the night.

If you are travelling with a valid Tallinja Card, you can enjoy free travel on the special Isle of MTV services and regular night buses.

No Tallinja Card? No problem. Tickets can be purchased when boarding for €3 per passenger, with both cash and contactless payments accepted.

From international stars and unforgettable performances to thousands of fans creating an electric atmosphere, Isle of MTV Malta is one of the highlights of the Maltese summer calendar.

So dance, sing, take the photos, enjoy the fireworks, and when the final beat drops, Malta’s buses will be ready to get you back safely.

Because the only thing you should be wondering after Isle of MTV is: “Where’s the after-party?”  not “Where’s my way home?”
